It’s a girl!

Emma Jane Lynch was born at 7:51pm on April 16th in the year of Our Lord, MMX and weighing only a tiny 3lbs. 9oz. and making Rebekah and I the proudest parents of the most adorable baby girl in the world.

No seriously, see?

Less than a month later, I am trying to recall… well, something. What it was like to not be a Dad? What a full night’s sleep felt like? What all my worries about becoming a Dad were? I’m not really sure.

It wouldn’t be entirely honest to say that I don’t remember these things, I do. It’s more like they belong to another life or another person. By that, I don’t mean that I’ve been changed or that I am somehow a radically transformed person. I’m pretty sure I’m still me, with all the same old strengths and weaknesses and quirks, just also a Dad.

And that’s pretty cool.

I mean, how can it not be when she’s my daughter?

If the above doesn’t make a lot of sense, just chalk it up to a lack of sleep. I figure at this rate, I’ll be zen in no time. How long has it really been?
